Ontario Hiking Week

October 1-7, 2016

During the first week of October (1-7), Hike Ontario sponsors Ontario Hiking Week - an annual province-wide event. With a wide variety of trails for hikers of all ages and levels of skill, Hiking Week in Ontario is a great time to experience our amazing natural heritage.

The early autumn season is a great time to go on hiking. The foliage is a stunning array of colours, the mild daily temperatures and cool nights limit the number of bugs encountered, and the land is alive with wildlife preparing for winter.

Every year, many different trail & hiking clubs host free guided hikes all over the province. We encourage every Ontarian to "lace up your shoes, get outside and take a hike"!
