Record your outdoor adventures with our NEW 'Hiking Log'. This 1-page document lets you quickly and easily document the details of your hikes.

And don't forget you can use your hiking log toward Hike Ontario's Long Distance Hiker Awards - a program celebrating dedicated hikers who have logged long distanced (550, 950, and 1500 kilometres) on Pedestrian Walking Paths and Hiking Trails across this great province of Ontario.

Hike Ontario is extremely proud to announce that the new 'Young Hikers Project' website is almost complete.

This new and exciting initiative will be launching in early 2017.

Just a friendly reminder to Hike Ontario Instructors: your Annual Instructor Fee of $25 is due during the month of January 2017.

To renew your Instructor Status for the 2017 season, send a cheque for $25 to the following mailing address:

Specialist High Skills Major

The Ontario Ministry of Education's Specialist High Skills Majors program allows students to focus on a future career through a bundle of classroom courses, workplace experiences and sector certifications.

Hike Ontario is a provincially recognized supplier for training and certification to support the Specialist High Skills Majors program goals. We offer the Safe Hiker Program and Certified Hike Leader to SHSM schools and welcome the chance to work with you and your students.

Volunteers Needed!

Help us grow the joy of hiking in this province by supporting Hike Ontario. As a non-profit
organization, we rely almost entirely on volunteers to meet the increasing public interest
for simple, inexpensive, and healthy methods to stay fit and enjoy.

If you or anyone you know is interested in some great opportunities, just let us know. Volunteers are always welcome.

We are looking for people with skills in marketing, public relations, fundraising, writing, and advocacy. Many of these roles are a great fit for post-secondary students, seasonal workers, and retirees.

Positions include:

• Web/Media/Graphics Artist

• Documentation Specialist

• Database Developer

• Archivist

• Photographer/Videographer
