Mood Walks II: Youth In Transition

Summit 2017 (Feb. 26)

The 2017 Mood Walks summit will be an opportunity for 40+ agencies participating in the Mood Walks for Youth in Transition project to come together and share their experiences. This event will include key learnings from the project, storytelling, and learning opportunities for mental health professionals, program leaders, volunteers, project partners and youth participants. The summit will also be an opportunity to exchange knowledge and explore other areas of mental health, nature, physical activity and youth engagement. Over 200 participants are expected from across Ontario.

Specialist High Skills Major

The Ontario Ministry of Education's Specialist High Skills Majors program allows students to focus on a future career through a bundle of classroom courses, workplace experiences and sector certifications.

Hike Ontario is a provincially recognized supplier for training and certification to support the Specialist High Skills Majors program goals. We offer the Safe Hiker Program and Certified Hike Leader to SHSM schools and welcome the chance to work with you and your students.

Volunteers Needed!

Help us grow the joy of hiking in this province by supporting Hike Ontario. As a non-profit
organization, we rely almost entirely on volunteers to meet the increasing public interest
for simple, inexpensive, and healthy methods to stay fit and enjoy.

If you or anyone you know is interested in some great opportunities, just let us know. Volunteers are always welcome.

We are looking for people with skills in marketing, public relations, fundraising, writing, and advocacy. Many of these roles are a great fit for post-secondary students, seasonal workers, and retirees.

Positions include:

• Web/Media/Graphics Artist

• Documentation Specialist

• Database Developer

• Archivist

• Photographer/Videographer
