Young Hikers Program Website launch
Young Hikers is a program of Hike Ontario, the only provincial non-profit organization dedicated to preserving, protecting and promoting the hiking trails and footpaths of Ontario.
The Young Hikers Program was created to foster the appreciation of Ontario's hiking and walking opportunities amongst young Ontarians (under 29) and to inspire young people to take action in the protection, preservation and growth of Ontario's footpaths.
Our goal is to foster and cultivate this appreciation through a variety of mediums. Ranging from curriculum focused lessons for educators to on the trail activities for families and youth, we offer a broad range of experiential opportunities. All with one goal in mind - to get youth outside and on the beautiful trails of Ontario.
There are so many reasons to take a hike, no matter how old you are! However, here are some really strong reasons why we need more kids hiking, walking and exploring Ontario on foot!
