Mood Walks III

Coming Soon!

Mood Walks is a province-wide initiative that promotes physical activity in nature, or “green exercise,” as a way to improve both physical and mental health. Led by the Canadian Mental Health Association (Ontario), in partnership with Hike Ontario and Conservation Ontario, Mood Walks provides training and support for community mental health agencies, social service organizations and other community partners to launch educational hiking programs, connect with local resources, find volunteers, and explore nearby trails and green spaces.

More information coming soon. Stay tuned!

Healthy Hikes is an annual health and wellness initiative of Conservation Ontario and proudly sponsored by Hike Ontario.

Each year, Ontarians are encouraged to boost their health by stepping into nature at any of Ontario’s nearly 300 Conservation Areas from May to October.

This year, Healthy Hikers can boost their health by stepping into nature from May 2 - October 31!

• Visit a Conservation Area

• Snap a fun selfie or nature image

• Share it on social media using the hashtags #HealthyHikes & #StepIntoNature

Give your health a boost!

Healthy Parks, Healthy People

Friday, July 21, 2017

WHERE: All operating Ontario Parks.

WHAT: Free day-use at all Ontario Parks. We are opening our doors to everyone in Ontario; there will be no charge for day-use visitation during the celebration. Parks across the province will offer events and activities that encourage people to visit parks and be active. Explore a new park, sample our facilities and services or enjoy a fun event in a great natural setting!

WHY: The time to strengthen and rediscover our connection to nature is now! Ontario’s provincial parks are home to some of the most inspiring and beautiful landscapes in the country. We want to increase the awareness and uptake of the strong benefits linked to spending time in nature.

What is included with the free day-use entry?
All visitors to the park will be issued a complimentary day-pass to the park. You may enjoy the park facilities until 10:00pm on July 21. Additional charges for facilities not included in day-use such as camping, equipment rentals and pools at Bronte Creek and Earl Rowe provincial parks will remain in effect during the celebration.

ATTENTION Certified Hike Leaders: You will have free access to Ontario Parks on Thursday, July 20 to help you plan for your guided hike. Hike Ontario will also help advertise your hike and promote it on our website, newsletter, and Social Media. For more information, contact us at info@hikeontario.com.
